Experience

Simon has been working in the Drug and Alcohol field since 1993 with various organisations, including 5 years specialising in counselling young people with drug or alcohol problems.

Counselling

Certificate in Counselling (1994) Richmond College London

Diploma (with distinction) in Brief Strategic Therapy. (2000) Member of the British Society of Brief Strategic Therapists.

Studied Brief Solution Focused Therapy under Harvey Ratner of the Brief Therapy Centre in London. Clinical Supervision with Harvey Ratner.

Other information

Simon has a wide range of experience spanning 15 years focusing on drug and alcohol treatment. Truly showing his passion for helping people overcome there addiction issues.

He has been a consultant to the governments of Israel and the Czech Republic on CBT programmes and its use for drug users.  On many occasions he has been invited to speak and advise to Government groups, members of parliament, as well as legal and education professionals on issues of drug and alcohol treatment.

Simon was also involved in the Methamphetamine Task Force at Scotland Yard as well as the London Drug Policy Forum.

He has started several clinics in the UK to treat drug and alcohol misuse clients as well as a Steroid Users Clinic.   He has also worked as an educator teaching Relapse Awareness, Drug Education, and Solution Focused therapy to teachers and counselors.

As an author he developed the ThinkingCap Relapse Awareness programme which is used at several rehabilitation programmes around the world as well as here at Channah Thailand. He has also designed a range of drug advice playing cards for schools, prisons and treatment centres in the UK.  Available from www.educationalcards.co.uk
